According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, a joint declaration was released by the foreign ministers of multiple countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Türkiye, Indonesia, Somalia and Palestine.
The joint communiqué stated that the reported opening of the so-called Somaliland embassy in occupied Al Quds was unlawful and challenged the legal and historical status of the city.
The participating countries reaffirmed their rejection of any attempts to alter the recognised status of Jerusalem through unilateral actions or measures considered inconsistent with international law.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson said the countries involved viewed the development as a breach of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions concerning Jerusalem.
The declaration also stressed that any effort to create new realities on the ground in occupied Jerusalem would not be accepted and reiterated support for international legitimacy and established UN resolutions.
The issue of Jerusalem remains one of the central and most sensitive subjects in the long-running Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with many Muslim nations maintaining that occupied East Jerusalem forms part of Palestinian territory and that its final status should be determined through internationally recognised negotiations.
