Speaking in Kemari, he asserted that with the right leadership, Karachi could have become a model city.

“If Pakistan had been led in the right direction, today it would have been Asia’s economic tiger,” Iqbal stated. He criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s leadership, accusing those who brought him to power of betraying the nation.
“History will remember them as the worst traitors of Pakistan,” he lamented, highlighting the impact of poor governance on the country’s 240 million people. Drawing a metaphor, Iqbal said, “If an inexperienced person is placed in charge at the Kemari port, they will inevitably cause accidents,” implying that governance requires expertise.
At a separate press conference in Karachi, Iqbal accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of undermining the country’s stability. He alleged that PTI’s international wing was aiding anti-Pakistan forces and called the party the “biggest asset” for adversaries like India and Israel.
Iqbal challenged PTI to present evidence in court if they believed the cases against them were fabricated. “Who is responsible for dragging Pakistan into international scrutiny?” he asked, criticizing PTI for contributing to political instability and discouraging investment in the country.
Rejecting any possibility of releasing PTI’s founder through executive order, Iqbal urged him to “muster the courage to admit to seeking an NRO.” He concluded by warning that ongoing political chaos and protests harm Pakistan’s investment climate and economic growth.
