The initiative reflects Goldman Sachs’ broader strategy to integrate artificial intelligence into its investment process as the technology continues to reshape industries and global financial markets.
According to an internal memo seen by Reuters, the company has appointed Lou D’Ambrosio as Chairman of Artificial Intelligence for Asset Management. He will oversee the AlphaAI platform and lead its implementation across the business.
“We believe AI is both reshaping industries and acting as a force multiplier in how we invest,” Marc Nachmann, global head of Goldman Sachs’ Asset & Wealth Management division, said in the memo.
Previously, D’Ambrosio founded Goldman Sachs’ Value Accelerator programme in 2018. He also chairs the firm’s AI Investing Leadership Council and has served as chief executive of both private and public companies.
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs named Darius Adamczyk as the new global leader of the Value Accelerator programme. He previously co-led the initiative, which helps portfolio companies create long-term value by leveraging the firm’s global network and resources.
The launch of AlphaAI highlights Goldman Sachs’ growing focus on artificial intelligence as investment firms increasingly adopt advanced technologies to improve decision-making, identify opportunities and enhance portfolio performance.
