Lawmakers offer tribute to Benazir Bhutto during National Assembly proceedings.
The National Assembly on Sunday offered Fateha for former prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on her 73rd birth anniversary and paid tribute to her political legacy and public service.
During proceedings in the House, PPP Parliamentarians lawmaker Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani described Benazir Bhutto as a symbol of democracy, political courage and women’s empowerment.
He said she remained committed to democratic values throughout her political career.

Lawmakers Recall Democratic Legacy
Jakhrani noted that Benazir Bhutto served twice as prime minister and consistently advocated democratic governance.
Moreover, he said she dedicated her political life to democratic principles and continued that commitment until her martyrdom.
According to him, her contributions extended beyond Pakistan and influenced the wider region.
He added that her loss was felt across South Asia as well as internationally.
Tribute to Leadership and Public Service
Jakhrani said Benazir Bhutto made history as Pakistan’s first woman prime minister.
He also described her as the first woman to lead a government in the Muslim world.
Furthermore, he said she strongly supported women’s rights, social development and democratic institutions.
The lawmaker also credited her with contributing to Pakistan’s national strength.
According to him, developments in missile technology during her tenure strengthened the country’s ability to respond to external threats.
Fateha Offered in National Assembly
Jakhrani said Benazir Bhutto continues to remain in the hearts of many Pakistanis and will be remembered for her sacrifices and services.
At the request of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Hafiz Mian Muhammad Numan led Fateha and offered prayers for the elevation of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s ranks in Jannah.
