Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Coast Guards have seized a large consignment of narcotics worth an estimated $215 million during a joint counter-narcotics operation near Gwadar, authorities said.
The intelligence-based operation took place in Pishukan, along the coastline near Gwadar, in coordination with the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC). Officials recovered approximately 1,500 kilograms of hashish and 500 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
According to the Pakistan Navy, smugglers were transporting the narcotics through the Arabian Sea with plans to move the shipment to international destinations.
Authorities handed over the seized drugs to Pakistan Coast Guards for legal proceedings and further investigation.
Officials said the operation reflects close coordination among maritime security agencies and reinforces efforts to prevent the use of Pakistani waters for illegal trafficking activities.
