According to police officials, those killed included Hayatullah, described as a key target killer linked to the Zargul group, along with Asad Yar, Naimatullah, Mansoor and one unidentified militant.
Authorities said the militants were allegedly involved in attacks on security forces, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and civilians. Police added that Asad Yar and Naimatullah were linked to the earlier attack on the Fateh Khel police checkpost.
Officials stated that special police teams carried out the operations under the supervision of the Bannu DIG using intelligence inputs and strategic planning.
Residents in the area reportedly welcomed the operations and praised law enforcement efforts aimed at maintaining peace and security in the region.
The operations follow a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device attack on the Fateh Khel Police Post in Bannu on May 9, 2026, which resulted in the deaths of 15 police personnel and left four others, including a civilian, injured.
