Iran Nuclear Proposal reaches Washington through Qatar as Tehran sets seven conditions for negotiations.Iran sends a nuclear proposal to the United States through Qatar amid efforts to end the war.

Iran has sent the United States a nuclear proposal through Qatar, but discussions will begin only after Washington meets seven conditions set by Tehran.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the United States was reviewing the proposal but declined to disclose further details.

Mediators have stepped up efforts to end the war between Iran and the United States amid fears that fighting could resume after the US midterm elections.

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump declined to rule out restarting military operations after the vote. Iran, meanwhile, has warned that it would launch a wider retaliation if the conflict resumes.

Iran’s senior security official Mohsen Rezaei outlined Tehran’s position during a visit to Russia on Thursday.

“On the issue of diplomacy, we have announced seven conditions to the Americans. As long as they do not execute our seven conditions, we will neither open the Strait of Hormuz nor have negotiations,” he said.

Iran has demanded the lifting of US sanctions, the release of its frozen assets and war reparations, among other conditions.

Washington, however, has insisted that nuclear issues must form part of any initial negotiations.

The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military bases.

The conflict also spread to Lebanon, where Hezbollah and Israel exchanged attacks. More recently, fighting extended to Yemen, with Iran-aligned Houthi forces striking energy facilities, airports and other targets in Saudi Arabia.

Diplomatic efforts continue as regional tensions remain high and the possibility of renewed military confrontation threatens to complicate negotiations.
