The Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced an agreement with private Hajj tour operators, granting them permission to commence bookings for the upcoming Hajj season. Private operators are allowed to accept bookings until January 31, but packages exceeding 30 lakh rupees require approval from the Hajj Formulation Committee.
In addition, operators offering packages above this amount must submit their Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) data to ensure compliance and transparency. This new policy aims to streamline the Hajj booking process while addressing the rising demand for private services.
Meanwhile, the government has also started accepting Hajj applications under the limited quota system. Applications are being processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and designated banks nationwide are accepting submissions.
Applicants under the government quota are required to pay an initial amount of Rs6,000,000 in two installments. Additional charges for optional services like Qurbani or separate accommodations will be applied separately.
A total of 5,000 pilgrims will be accommodated under the Government Hajj Scheme this year. The Ministry has clarified that once this quota is filled, applications will no longer be accepted.
Given the limited quota and high demand, the Ministry urges prospective pilgrims to submit their applications promptly to avoid missing the opportunity.
