Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday to discuss regional developments and ongoing efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the regional situation and emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomatic engagement. The talks took place amid continued geopolitical tensions across the region.
President Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in encouraging dialogue and reducing tensions. He also acknowledged Pakistan’s continued efforts to support peaceful solutions and strengthen understanding among regional stakeholders.
Furthermore, the Iranian president recognised Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement at a time of heightened regional uncertainty and stressed the importance of maintaining communication and cooperation.
Meanwhile, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and long-term stability. He emphasised that Pakistan would continue supporting efforts aimed at reducing tensions and encouraging constructive engagement.
Both sides also agreed to strengthen Pakistan-Iran relations and maintain close consultations on matters of mutual interest.
In addition, they reaffirmed their shared objective of promoting peace, economic progress and lasting stability across the wider region.
