ISLAMABAD: A high-level Pakistani delegation, led by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir, has arrived in Tehran as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to mediate between the United States and Iran, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday.
The delegation also includes Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and other senior officials, reflecting Pakistan’s continued engagement in efforts to de-escalate tensions and facilitate dialogue between the two sides.
An Iranian official confirmed that Tehran and Washington are currently exchanging messages through Pakistani mediators, highlighting Islamabad’s central role in bridging communication between the two adversaries.
The visit comes amid heightened diplomatic activity following weeks of conflict and a fragile ceasefire, with Pakistan positioning itself as a key facilitator in efforts to achieve a lasting resolution.
