Cristiano Ronaldo saw his wait for a first Saudi Pro League title continue after Al Nassr were held to a dramatic draw by rivals Al Hilal in a tense Riyadh derby.

Al Nassr looked set for a crucial victory after defender Mohamed Simakan gave them the lead and the team controlled much of the contest with composure.
However, deep into stoppage time, goalkeeper Bento made a costly mistake when he failed to deal with a hopeful long ball into the penalty area, allowing the ball to slip over the line and deny Al Nassr what appeared to be a decisive win in the title race.
Despite the setback, Al Nassr remain in control of their championship hopes. Victory against relegation-threatened Damac in their final league fixture would secure the Saudi Pro League title. Any slip-up, however, could allow Al Hilal back into contention if they win their remaining matches and edge ahead on head-to-head record.
The dramatic finish sparked heated scenes inside the stadium, with tensions rising among supporters of both clubs after the final whistle.
Al Hilal, still chasing a domestic double, struggled to produce their best form during the match. Key players including Karim Benzema and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic had limited influence, while Kingsley Coman missed a major chance after striking the post.
Ronaldo was substituted late in the game to loud applause from Al Nassr supporters and appeared confident of sealing the title before the late equaliser changed the atmosphere dramatically.
Al Nassr now shift focus to the AFC Champions League Two, where they are scheduled to face Gamba Osaka later this week, with another opportunity for silverware still within reach.
