The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened sharply higher on Friday as strong buying interest lifted the benchmark KSE-100 Index by more than 1,800 points during early trading. As a result, the KSE-100 Index climbed to 183,477 points, gaining more than 1,800 points in the fifth and final trading session of the week. The rally followed a weaker performance on Thursday. The benchmark index had closed at 181,259 points after shedding 369 points in the previous session. Market participants said renewed investor confidence and broad-based buying supported the strong recovery in early trade.
