Pakistan enter the match with a 1–0 lead after securing victory in the opening ODI earlier this week.
On Thursday, Federal Minister for Interior and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited the stadium to review security arrangements for the series. He was accompanied by Sri Lankan High Commissioner Fred Seneviratne and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, according to an official statement.
Senior officials, including the chief commissioner Islamabad, the commissioner Rawalpindi, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, and representatives from various law enforcement agencies, were also present during the inspection.
Naqvi met on-duty security personnel and praised their commitment to ensuring the safety of players and spectators. He also interacted with members of the Sri Lankan squad during their practice session, thanking them for their continued participation in the Pakistan tour.
“Your security is our responsibility,” Naqvi assured, reiterating the government’s resolve to provide full protection to all visiting international teams.
