Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited Turkish companies to expand their investments in Pakistan. He highlighted opportunities in energy, mining, infrastructure, maritime services, logistics, information technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, agriculture and privatisation. He also pledged to attract more foreign investment through investor-friendly policies. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier said Pakistan and Türkiye share deep-rooted historical and brotherly ties. He urged both countries to turn their strong political relationship into broader economic and commercial partnerships. Pakistan highlights investment reforms Shehbaz pointed to Pakistan’s improving macroeconomic indicators and ongoing economic reforms. He assured investors that the government would maintain a transparent and predictable business environment. He said the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) continues to provide one-window support for local and foreign investors. The council works closely with federal and provincial authorities to facilitate investment. During a meeting with Çalık Holding Chairman Ahmet Çalık, the prime minister discussed opportunities in energy, infrastructure, information technology and privatisation. He welcomed the company’s interest in expanding its presence in Pakistan. Turkish firms express confidence In separate talks with representatives of the Albayrak Group, Shehbaz encouraged greater investment in maritime infrastructure, port modernisation and logistics. He also praised the company’s contribution to Pakistan’s transport and connectivity sectors. The prime minister later met officials from the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB). He proposed a structured mechanism for regular engagement between the private sectors of both countries. He also invited TOBB to lead a high-level business delegation to Pakistan. The visit would allow Turkish companies to explore emerging investment opportunities. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Turkish business leaders expressed confidence in Pakistan’s improving economy. They also reaffirmed their interest in expanding investments and building long-term partnerships. MoUs strengthen bilateral cooperation The meetings followed the signing of three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) last week. The agreements aim to strengthen institutional collaboration, technical cooperation and knowledge sharing in the power sector. Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Türkiye on Friday at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Before reaching Istanbul, he attended the funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
