Pakistan, chasing a challenging target of 437 runs, were bowled out for 358 on the fifth morning after resuming play under pressure. Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan resumed on 75 and fought hard with a determined innings but fell short of a century after being dismissed for 94.
Spinner Taijul Islam starred with the ball, claiming six wickets in the second innings and finishing with figures of 6-120. His performance proved decisive as Bangladesh wrapped up Pakistan’s innings and triggered celebrations among the home side.
The victory marked Bangladesh’s first home Test series win against Pakistan and followed another 2-0 clean sweep against the same opponents in Pakistan in 2024. It also represented Bangladesh’s fourth consecutive Test series victory — a first in the country’s cricket history.
Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto praised his team’s composure and collective effort after the match.
For Pakistan, captain Shan Masood admitted the team needed to assess shortcomings across batting, bowling and fielding after missing key opportunities in both matches.
Pakistan had shown resistance through partnerships involving Rizwan, Shan Masood and Salman Ali Agha, but Bangladesh maintained control at crucial moments.
Litton Das was named Player of the Match after scoring 126 in the first innings, while veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim earned Player of the Series honors with 253 runs across two Tests.
