According to the statement, both leaders exchanged views on the regional crisis and its broader economic implications, particularly in light of ongoing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz.
Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy to ensure peace and stability in the region and beyond. The Kuwaiti foreign minister praised Islamabad’s efforts to facilitate constructive engagement and foster lasting peace.
Both sides reaffirmed strong bilateral ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, agreeing to maintain close coordination on regional developments.
The discussion comes amid heightened tensions following the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, which has disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz — a critical global energy route.
Antonio Guterres has warned that continued instability in the region could trigger widespread economic fallout, including rising poverty and global recession risks.
Pakistan has been actively engaged in diplomatic efforts, including hosting the Islamabad Talks in April, aimed at easing tensions between Washington and Tehran. While a fragile ceasefire remains in place, negotiations for a lasting resolution continue to face challenges.
The Foreign Office reiterated that Pakistan will continue its role as a facilitator, emphasising dialogue as the only viable path to resolving the conflict.
