The strike hit a large tent camp in central Gaza City. Medics said 15 others were injured, including children.
An Israeli military spokesperson said forces targeted militants. However, the spokesperson did not provide further details.
Ceasefire Efforts Continue in Cairo
At the same time, mediators restarted talks in Cairo. The discussions involve Hamas and other Palestinian factions.
Egypt is hosting the new round of negotiations. Officials expect the talks to last several days.
Hamas said the focus will be on enforcing the first phase of the ceasefire. It also wants progress toward a second phase of the agreement.
Ongoing Disputes Over Ceasefire Terms
However, key differences remain between the sides. Hamas wants Israel to stop attacks, allow more aid, and withdraw forces.
Israel says its strikes target imminent threats. It also says humanitarian aid continues to enter Gaza.
Indirect negotiations over a second phase have stalled. These talks include disarmament of Hamas and Israeli troop withdrawal.
Heavy Toll Since War Began
Since the truce began, Gaza health officials say about 950 Palestinians have been killed. Israel says militants have killed four of its soldiers in the same period.
Since October 2023, Gaza health authorities report nearly 73,000 deaths in total. Most of the victims are reported to be civilians.
Israel says Hamas-led attacks on October 7 killed about 1,200 people. It also says 251 people were taken hostage.
