Pakistan-Canada Relations: Army Chief Asim Munir Meets Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand

Pakistan-Canada Relations were the focus of a high-level meeting on Monday as Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand called on Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting covered matters of mutual interest, regional security and bilateral ties between Pakistan and Canada.

Field Marshal Asim Munir shared Pakistan’s perspective on global peace and regional stability. He stressed the importance of cooperation and collective efforts to address shared security challenges and promote lasting peace.

Anita Anand praised Pakistan’s continued efforts and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. She also acknowledged the country’s constructive role in promoting regional peace and stability.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-Canada relations by expanding cooperation in defence, security and other areas of mutual interest.

The meeting reflected the two countries’ shared interest in maintaining dialogue and enhancing collaboration on regional and international security issues.
