Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Wednesday accused the federal government of attempting to centralise powers by seeking control over provincial rights related to education and population welfare.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) facility in Karachi, Bilawal warned that any move by Islamabad to encroach upon constitutionally devolved authorities would be unacceptable.
“There are talks that Islamabad wants to keep the rights of education and population welfare to itself. It will be wrong,” he said, cautioning that a strong reaction would follow if Sindh’s rights were undermined.
The remarks come amid ongoing political tensions over resource distribution and provincial autonomy, issues that the PPP has consistently raised at the national level.
