In the first operation, conducted in Mohmand District following reports of militant presence, security forces launched a targeted raid. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militants’ hideout, resulting in a fierce exchange of fire in which seven militants were killed.
A second intelligence-based operation was carried out in Bannu District, where security forces neutralised six more militants after successfully engaging their location.
Officials said sanitisation operations are ongoing in both areas to eliminate any remaining militants and ensure complete clearance.
The operations are part of Pakistan’s ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the national vision “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan. Security forces and law enforcement agencies reiterated their resolve to continue operations at full pace to eradicate the threat of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
