The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a nationwide weather alert for the next 12 to 24 hours.

Authorities warned that heavy rain, thunderstorms, strong winds and flooding may affect several parts of Pakistan.
Moreover, vulnerable mountain regions face a higher risk of flash floods, landslides and Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOFs).
According to the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC), this weather pattern matches seasonal forecasts issued months earlier.
Meanwhile, the NDMA said it has continued sharing advance warnings with authorities to improve preparedness.
Rain and Storms Forecast Across Pakistan
The authority expects rain along with thunderstorms, dust storms and strong winds in many areas.
In Punjab and Islamabad, rainfall is likely in Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Mandi Bahauddin, Sargodha, Gujar Khan, Gujrat, Jhelum, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Lahore, Faisalabad, Khushab, Jhang, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Multan, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir may receive thunderstorms and rain.
Areas at risk include Gilgit, Skardu, Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Hunza, Ghanche, Shigar, Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Bagh, Kotli, Poonch, Hattian, Mirpur and Bhimber.
Glacier Flood Threat Remains High
In addition, the NDMA issued a separate warning over Glacial Lake Outburst Floods.
Authorities said GLOFs may trigger sudden flooding, landslides and debris flows in vulnerable mountain regions.
These areas include Gilgit-Baltistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa may receive rainfall and thunderstorms.
The forecast covers Chitral, Dir, Swat, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Peshawar, Kohat, Parachinar, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan.
Sindh and Balochistan Also on Alert
Meanwhile, Balochistan may receive thunderstorms and rainfall.
The affected areas include Turbat, Kech, Awaran, Khuzdar and Zhob.
Likewise, parts of Sindh may experience strong winds and isolated rainfall.
These areas include Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Khairpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad and Karachi.
Authorities Advise Caution
District administrations and emergency agencies continue to monitor vulnerable locations.
At the same time, rescue teams remain on standby.
The NDMA advised tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
In particular, travellers heading to northern regions should check forecasts and road conditions before departure.
Flooding, debris flows and landslides may cause temporary road closures.
Finally, the authority urged citizens to stay informed through the official Pak NDMA Disaster Alert mobile application.
People should contact local administration and rescue services immediately in case of emergencies.
Provincial and district authorities have also been instructed to stay alert and take precautionary measures.
