Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has formed an eight-member committee to develop a framework for commercial courts in Pakistan.

The government aims to improve the country’s system for resolving business and commercial disputes. As a result, the committee will prepare a detailed plan and submit its report within 45 days.
Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar will lead the committee.
The committee also includes Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Federal Minister Bilal Azhar Kayani, the Secretary of Law, and legal experts Faisal Nadeem Naqvi, Ali Almani, Zainab Janjua, and Ibrahim Afridi.
The panel will develop recommendations for setting up specialized commercial courts across the country. These courts will focus on resolving commercial and business-related cases more efficiently.
In addition, the committee will propose measures to strengthen the legal framework for commercial dispute resolution.
The initiative forms part of broader judicial reforms. It also seeks to improve the business climate and boost investor confidence.
Furthermore, faster dispute resolution can help businesses operate more effectively and encourage economic growth.
After completing its work, the committee will present its recommendations to the prime minister for review and possible implementation.
