Gold Prices Surge Sharply in Global and Pakistani Markets
After winning the first leg 5-4 in Paris, the French champions held their nerve in Germany to keep alive their hopes of defending the European title.
PSG will now face Arsenal in the final scheduled for May 30 in Budapest.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised the team’s determination after the match, saying the players had shown a warrior mentality throughout the tie.
PSG’s defence, criticised after conceding four goals in the first leg, delivered a much-improved performance by containing Bayern’s attacking threats, including Harry Kane, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise.
Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring with a first-time finish following an impressive run and assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Kvaratskhelia also set a new Champions League record by becoming the first player to register a goal or assist in seven consecutive knockout-stage matches in a single season.
Bayern mounted heavy pressure late in the game, but PSG goalkeeper Matvei Safonov produced several crucial saves. Kane scored in stoppage time, though the goal was not enough to prevent elimination.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said his players gave everything despite the disappointment of defeat.
