In a post on X, the prime minister said technical-level discussions would follow next week after the initial agreement.
He expressed confidence that the proposed agreement could lay the foundation for long-term regional peace.
According to reports, officials from both the United States and Iran indicated on Friday that negotiations had moved closer to an agreement aimed at ending the conflict.
Pakistan has played a mediation role during efforts to reduce tensions and support diplomatic engagement between the two sides.
Proposed Agreement Framework
Sources involved in the discussions said the proposed memorandum of understanding includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending restrictions affecting Iranian ports.
The draft framework also includes economic measures linked to sanctions and access to Iranian financial assets.
Under the reported proposal, negotiations on Iran’s nuclear programme would continue during a later phase of talks.
Officials said the agreement could open the way for further discussions on broader security and economic issues.
Nuclear Talks and Regional Impact
Draft proposals indicate that the United States may ease restrictions on Iranian oil exports and begin releasing frozen Iranian assets under agreed conditions.
In return, Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and continue negotiations on nuclear issues.
However, differences remain over the future of Iran’s nuclear activities and the handling of enriched uranium.
Iranian officials have signalled support for continued negotiations but maintained that some elements of the draft still require discussion.
The conflict has affected regional stability and increased pressure on global energy markets because of concerns over shipping routes and supply disruptions.
Officials from all sides continue diplomatic engagement as negotiations move toward the next stage.
