Iran US MoU: Tehran Suspends Agreement After Trump Dispute

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei says repeated US actions damaged trust, while Tehran halts the memorandum of understanding amid rising tensions.

Iran US MoU tensions intensified after Tehran suspended the implementation of a memorandum of understanding with Washington, accusing the United States of repeatedly violating the agreement.

Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said in a written statement on Saturday that alleged US breaches had shown President Donald Trump’s signature carried “no credibility.”

Khamenei said the United States should understand that Iran and its regional allies would remember what he described as the consequences of Washington’s actions.

The statement came after Iran and the United States exchanged strikes following the collapse of a ceasefire agreement last week. The developments have increased fears of renewed large-scale conflict.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi also confirmed that Tehran had suspended the implementation of the MoU reached with Washington.

Gharibabadi said Iran took the decision because the United States repeatedly failed to honour its commitments during negotiations and continued what he called aggressive actions.

He added that Iran had engaged in talks in good faith but said US actions had damaged mutual trust between the two sides.

The deputy foreign minister said Iran’s immediate priority remains strengthening its defence capabilities as tensions continue to rise.

The latest dispute has further complicated diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington, with both sides accusing each other of undermining the agreement.
