Speaking to media representatives at the Sindh Assembly’s media corner on Friday, Ghani said India had failed to provide evidence to support its allegations against Pakistan regarding the April 2025 Pahalgam incident, even after one year had passed. He also claimed that evidence had surfaced indicating India’s own involvement in the incident.
Prominent party leaders, including Sharmila Faruqui, District South President Javed Nagori, and Shakeel Chaudhry, were present during the media briefing.
Ghani announced that the Pakistan Peoples Party Karachi chapter would organise a major public celebration on May 9 at Nishan-e-Pakistan in Sea View. The event is scheduled to begin at 5pm and will feature performances by renowned artists presenting national, patriotic and regional songs, along with laser light displays and fireworks.
He said banners and panaflex displays had been installed across Karachi to commemorate one year of Marka-e-Haq, while camps had also been established in various districts.
Referring to the May 2025 conflict, Ghani alleged that India had targeted civilians, mosques and seminaries during missile strikes on May 6 and 7, 2025, and claimed Pakistan’s armed forces responded swiftly. He further asserted that Pakistan had shot down several Indian aircraft and disrupted India’s air defence systems during the confrontation.
The PPP leader also stated that Pakistan had played a significant diplomatic role during recent US-Iran tensions, while praising the unity shown by Pakistan’s political leadership. He commended Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for representing Pakistan effectively at international forums.
Discussing security arrangements for the celebrations, Ghani said all legal permissions had been obtained and described the gathering as “a programme for all Pakistanis.” He invited citizens from all walks of life to participate in the event.
